02/06/05  Discover the value of the east
The surge of Britons buying in Eastern Europe has so far been concentrated on Bulgaria and Croatia, but the area's largest country, Poland, is about to enter the arena. It has a rich variety of architecture, from Gothic 17th- and 18th-century buildings in the historic university city of Krakow, to reconstructed classical edifices in Warsaw; Communist monoliths; and ski lodges and modern flats in the Tatra mountains.

31/05/05  Is There a Bubble in Florida Waiting to Burst?
ERIC SITCHERAN, a New York City banker, has been researching the Florida housing market since 1999, looking for just the right time and place to buy. He waited through the uncertainties after Sept. 11 and delayed again as four hurricanes struck the state last year.

 31/05/05  The Bali Britons
Expatriates are taking advantage of the country's year-round tourist trade to invest in holiday villas. OVER lychee Martinis at the Hu’u Bar in Bali’s hip and trendy beachside suburb of Seminyak, the chatter is decidedly British. Someone asks how Arsenal did at the weekend. Another male voice bemoans his physical distance from a good Yorkshire salmon run and a woman is excited at the prospect of her Prada bikini arriving the next day direct from Knightsbridge.

 26/05/05  High life in Corfu
How could we say goodbye? After 40 years at Rovinia on the west coast of Corfu, this beautiful and much-maligned island in the Ionian Sea, how would it be possible for my mother to open the little green gate at the top, walk past the faded notice unconvincingly proclaiming that the land is idiotikos (private) and drive away for the last time? Wouldn’t she — and all of us who had grown accustomed to living in the rhythms of sea and storm and the blue brilliance of water that stretches all the way to Italy — be drawn back again and again? And how, most importantly, would we find anywhere else where we could feel as much at home?

26/05/05  Price spike fails to hit Dubai freehold sales
Diamond Investments, a Dubai-based private development company, has sold the majority of units at its six freehold residential towers coming up in Dubai Marina despite raising prices. "We have already sold 1,100 units to customers," said Faris Saeed, general manager of Diamond Investments.
